Motorway “Milos the great” opened for traffic

The section of the motorway “Milos the Great” from Obrenovac to Ljig was opened for traffic in the second half of August 2019. Together with the previously opened section Ljig – Preljina, it creates a whole consisting of 103 kilometres of motorway E-763.

The characteristics of the section of the Motorway E-763, Belgrade-South Adriatic, Sector I: Belgrade – Ljig, section 3: Obrenovac-Ub from km  14+416.09 to km 40+645.28, section 4: Ub-Lajkovac, from 40+645.28 tо km 53+138.91  and section 5: Lajkovac – Ljig from км 53+138.91 to km 77+118.23.

The route of the Motorway E-763 represents a branch of the Transeuropean arterial road which, on the area of Serbia and Montenegro, connects its basic road route from Gdansk to Athens and from Istanbul to the Adriatic Sea and the harbour of Bar. On the area of Serbia it connects the most significant economic and social centres. The basic significance of this road on the territory of Serbia is that it valorizes the transit function of our country within the wider international corridor.

In the road network system of Serbia, this road, i.e. corridor, represents the basic link on the route north-south, connecting Vojvodina, Belgrade, western and central parts of Serbia and the area of south-western Serbia with Montenegro, the Adriatic Sea and the harbor of Bar.

The construction of the Motorway E-763, Belgrade – Požega, the section Lajkovac- Ljig and Ub – Lajkovac, together with the sections under construction (Surčin – Obrenovac) and already completed sections (Ub-Lajkovac 12.5 km and Ljig-Preljina, 40.3 km) has completed the profile of the Motorway from Belgrade to Preljina in the total length of 120 km (L=26.23км+12.5км+41.58+40.30=120.61km).

Motorway E-763, Belgrade – South Adriatic

Characteristics of the sections opened for traffic on 18.08.2019.

I Section: Obrenovac-Ub, in the total length of 26.23 km. The designed and constructed route of this section has been mainly placed on the alluvial plateaus of the rivers Kolubara, Tamnava and Ub as well as their tributaries, where it is  mostly constructed with embankments of changeable height, from 0.5-12.0m, and a shorter part includes inclined parts of the terrain where it is locally cut in to the depths of 0.5-20.0m. The total width of the motorway is 28.4m. The motorway is designed for the speed of V=130 km/h.

II Section: Ub-Lajkovac in the total length of 12.49km

The largest section of the route of the motorway goes  through the mildly corrugated relief of sediment formations through the course of the river Kladnica, the Ruklad stream and, finally, along the alluvial plateau of the river Kolubara. The total length of the motorway is 28.4m.

III Section: Lajkovac-Ljig in the total length of 23.98 km

The designed and constructed route of this section is mostly situated on the alluvial plateaus of the rivers Kolubara and Ljig as well as their tributaries, where it is mostly constructed with embankments of changeable height of 0.5-10m, and a shorter part includes inclined parts of the terrain where it is locally cut in to the depths of 0.5-27.0m. The total width of the motorway is 28.4m. The motorway is designed for the speed of V=130 km/h.

The total recapitulation of the Section Obrenovac-Ljig in the total length of 62.70km.

– 42 reinforced concrete bridges and overpasses, with the longest bridge in the length of 568m,

– 36 box culverts of 5m in width,

– 44 regulations of water flows in the total length of about 22km,

– 91 pipe culverts,

– 11 deviations of local roads,

– 2 rest areas with parking lots on both sides of the motorway,

– 4 toll stations – 1 frontal toll station and 3 lateral toll stations,

– 3 junctions – Junction Ub, Junction Lajkovac and Junction Ljig,

– 1 tunnel “Brančići“, whose average length (left and right tunnel tube) is 962.5m.
