Road Safety Manager, Unilever
Muhammad Salik is Road Safety Manager for the Customer Development function at Unilever Pakistan. For Salik, Safety is not a mere job but a personal calling to serve humankind and ensure people are safe when traveling to work and otherwise. As a Marketing Major with a Sales and Marketing background, Salik views safety differently than others. His diverse background helps him to create an eco-system that is conducive enough to nurture the concept of Safety from a “Have to” to a “Want to” attitude where every individual plays a part in creating a livable, safer society.
Salik is a Master Defensive Driving Trainer, auditor and a Certified First Aider and firefighter. He is an active member of the private sector road safety coalition led by the International Road Federation in Pakistan and also a Member of Technical committee for road safety in Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority (PSQCA). Through the numerous road safety initiative in which he is involved, Salik has played a vital role in creating a framework for a national curriculum for Road Safety in Pakistan.
In his four years of working at Unilever, Salik has been the recipient of the Unilever Global Safety Award, exclusive Chairman’s Award, and a VP Sales Award along with many other recognitions for the initiatives he took which helped the Sales community and Unilever Pakistan to achieve its global agenda of a Zero-injury company.
