
Geraldine Walsh
Head of Road User Charging, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)
Geraldine has recently taken up the role as Head of Road User Charging in Transport Infrastructure Ireland. She is responsible for leading and managing the multi-million euro tolling business in Ireland for TII with responsibilities for operations, change management, and setting the future direction for the business. With the expiry of the PPP motorway network post 2030, Geraldine and her team have been proactively planning for the future of that network.
In her previous role, Geraldine was responsible for delivering a portfolio of national operations and maintenance programmes on the national road network. The insights garnered afford Geraldine the opportunity to leverage off this experience in determining the strategic direction for tolling and road user charging in Ireland. Geraldine is an active member of CEDR and throughout the years has contributed on several working groups including a most recent task on network governance. She is a Director of the Institute of Asphalt Technology and was the youngest and first female President of the Institute in UK and Ireland. She graduated from the University of Dublin (Trinity College) and has a Degree and Masters in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. She joined TII in 2006.
