Director, Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST)

Emma MacLennan is President and Director General of EASST, the Eastern Alliance for Safe & Sustainable Transport. They are a UK charity working with partner organisations in 15 countries of Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia to reduce road death and injury and encourage inclusive and sustainable road transport. EASST is a member of the United Nations Global Road Safety Collaboration Group, the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, and an Associate Member of the FIA. EASST actively supports the goals of UN Decade of Action on Road Safety across all areas of activity – from better road safety management and safer roads to improvements in post-crash response. EASST also carries out a variety of donor-supported projects to improve road safety in all its countries of operation, working closely with public authorities and civil society to achieve reductions in road casualties. Emma is also on the Steering Group of the TU Delft Road Safety Course on which she regularly lectures.
