Webinar – COVID-19 Response and Recovery: The Global Transport Knowledge Partnership (gTKP)

March 4, 2021 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm CET
The COVID-19 Response & Recovery Transport Research Fund has been established in 2020 by the Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCAP) and the High Volume Transport Applied Research Programme (HVT) as part of the UK Department for International Development’s (DFID now FCDO) response to COVID-19.
The IRF has been awarded a three-month project to transform and enhance the existing Global Transport Knowledge Portal (gTKP). This platform – originally created through generous funding by FCDO (DFID) and which has been managed by the IRF since 2009 – will be enhanced to fast-track LIC (and others) access to knowledge, experience, learning resources and good practices on COVID-19 response and impacts. Further, the aim is to work in partnership with other initiatives and organisations, and to see gTKP grow into a fully-fledged capacity-building hub in the near future.
Beside COVID-19 resources, the new gTKP will also host some of the knowledge resources produced by the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC), links to key knowledge resources of the HVT programme as well as of The Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCAP) programme which focuses on rural roads and transport services. The FCDO-funded RECAP Programme ended in December 2020. The IRF has taken over the management of the ReCAP website and the knowledge Library to continue to ensure access to these resources and future uptake.
