Partnerships for Better Road Safety Data

Host: International Road Federation (Geneva)
Co-host: Global Alliance of Road Safety NGOs and Total Foundation
Room: Room 23, Level 2, Waterfront Congress Centre, Stockholm, Sweden
Contact: Méline Huynh, info@irfnet.ch

The importance and need for better road safety data has been widely acknowledged and recently highlighted as a priority in the United Nations, African Union and other multilateral resolutions. So has the need for capacity building in this field.

In recent discussions surrounding the creation of Regional Road Safety Observatory, governments have further recognised that coordinated efforts are necessary to address the significant need for better data. Building on the concrete experience of the LEARN project, the session will explore opportunities for inter-agency collaboration and multi-stakeholders’ partnerships and discuss ways in which to enhance knowledge, skills and actions with regard to road safety data.

The session will mark also the launch of the IRF Data Warehouse, a new tool to support data collection, management and data visualisation.
