4th IRF & SATC Webinar: the future of African aviation

The International Road Federation is pleased to support the Southern African Transport Conference (SATC) for this 4th and final webinar for 2020.
The global pandemic has had a significant effect on the African aviation sector. Join us as we look at the sector’s ability to recover, explore what aviation technology disruptors are up to, and unpack the evolving state of the continent’s flight industry.
Meet the speakers:

Chris Burger
Senior researcher
Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (Next Generation Enterprises and Institutions cluster)
Former military air traffic controller Chris Burger’s research interests include new technologies around broadcasting, wideband internet access and unmanned aircraft. Burger flies ambulance jets and acts as a pilot examiner for the South African Civil Aviation Authority. He holds Airline Transport Pilot Licences in South Africa and the United States, and is qualified on jets, helicopters, gliders and seaplanes. He has a MEng in Electronic Engineering and a BCom in Aviation Management, both from the University of Pretoria.

Ogaga Udjo
Aviation professional
Managing director: ZA Logics
Ogaga Udjo is the managing director of ZA Logics – an African advisory firm – and is a commercial aviation professional. He believes that transportation and connectivity (both virtual and physical) are keys to economic inclusion, opportunity and ultimately success for the African continent.
Udjo has years of corporate experience with Comair Limited, South African Airways and Qatar Airways (based in Doha).
He has appeared on several platforms, including Yahoo Finance, eNCA, China Global Television Network and Power FM, and was featured on the front cover of the February 2020 edition of Destiny Careers magazine.
