May 15 @ 12:00 pm 3:00 pm

About the Event

In the framework of the 7th UN Global Road Safety Week, the International Road Federation (IRF) is supporting and speaking at this online high-level technical event organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and partners on 15 May 2023 at 12:00 pm EAT.

Celebrating the 7th UN Road Safety Week, the event aims to discuss:

  • The implications of sustainable transport (shift to walking, cycling, and using public transport) for Africa – taking a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities for the continent;
  • The status of road safety management in Africa and the implications for achieving the objective of the Second UN Decade of Action for Road Safety to halve road deaths by 2030; and
  • The second edition of the annual Kofi Annan Road Safety Award.

ECA will provide interpretation and translation services (French/English and English/French).

Please consult the Event Concept Note for the detailed programme.
