EDITORIAL

Dear Reader,

We are thrilled to share with you some highlights from our recent activities. We look back at an inspiring week spent in Vienna for the 4th International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations co-organised with other leading organisations. The symposium provided a unique opportunity for exchange between European and US experts, as we welcomed representatives from 16 US DOTs. We have also fostered our ties with key organisations present – AASHTO, IBTTA, ERTICO – among others. The highlight of the week was a special dinner jointly hosted with ASECAP, to honour and thank – with an IRF 75th Anniversary Award – members and partners who have supported our Federation throughout this incredible seven-decade journey.

We are proud to announce this month the launch of the Private Sector Road Safety Coalition in Zambia. The initiative is a significant step forward towards fostering road safety awareness, collaboration, and action among leading private sector companies in the country and region.

An important piece of information for the Start-ups out there! Applications for the IRF Start-up Label close on 31 August. The initiative, at its 3rd edition this year, will support some of the most innovative start-ups in the mobility sector.

Finally, we keep boosting our training and capacity building activities. Make sure you check the calendar of events at the bottom of this newsletter.

To those going on holidays, we wish you a good summer break!

We look forward to reconnecting with all of you soon.

Best wishes,

Susanna Zammataro
