Newsletter – April 2022

EDITORIAL

Dear Reader,

I’m pleased to present you this new issue of the IRF CROSSROADS. As we are gearing up for the ITF Summit 2022 in Leipzig where the IRF Team will be engaged in several sessions, calls for a postponement of the UN High-Level Meeting on Road Safety are mounting on all fronts. The preparation of the event – scheduled to take place in New York end of June – suffers from the political tensions due to the war in Ukraine. A postponement seems to be the most reasonable way forward to ensure that the High-level Meeting is truly a catalytic moment for real leadership, meaningful allocation of resources, and committed implementation of actions to meet the 2030 road safety target. We join the call for a postponement.

After Leipzig, IRF members and partners will be meeting the transport community in Toulouse for what promises to be a vibrant ITS European Congress! We look forward to meeting you there.

This and a lot more in this new edition of our newsletter.

Good reading!

Susanna Zammataro
Director General
